One of my friends suggested using "1-2-3 Magic" to help with Baylee's wild temper tantrums. I thought I was employing 1-2-3 Magic correctly, but I was messing up a key component of it. When your child throws down, you begin the count & if you get to 3 & have to put them in the time out, you don't talk about their action that led to time out afterwards. Also, you don't say anything counting between the numbers. There's no talking & another key component is no emotion, which both Mike & I will have to work on.
They say that 1/2 the kids are compliant right away & the other 1/2 act up more before complying.
